Taking The Road South to SoCal

We're off to a running start when it comes to sharing our African adventures this spring with whomever the Lord brings us.  As you can see the boys are rearing to go; on your mark, get set,...!

Right before we headed South to sunny San Diego, we celebrated Jeff's 50th birthday. We got to surprise him with a small party where people were able to pop over and wish him a Happy Day. It was a blessing to share this time together.

As we drove south through Oregon, we sped though gray sky's and puddles. However, as we came over the last pass into California, the sky opened up and the sun came out. We were so excited to see the sun and feel it's warmth.

At different points during our trip we were able to spend time with family, friends, work and share about the Min. we will be participating in in Kenya. We were blessed with so many wonderful opportunities in all these areas. These lemon tree's were at the house Jeff's Mom and Step Dad are buying and we were loving picking the lemons, juicing them and making fresh lemonade. Something I had never done, but now we all love!

A major part of our time was spent connect with friends and family that we hadn't been able to see for the last 2 years. Sharing time with our friends was so sweet and a needed refreshment. Being able to visit Mandy's favorite restaurant Extraordinary Desserts was wonderful! If you haven't been and you visit San Diego, it needs to be on your "to do" list.

Apart from dessert, we were able to get in some hiking with more friends and catch up and get outside. As you can see, the boys had a horrible time! Not really. They loved it!!! It was nice to have fun in the sun.

It was amazing to see the way The Lord orchestrated nearly every event during the trip for His Glory. We were humbled by the reality that yes, we are going. That those around us will soon be sending us off, but more than anything, that in our going we sense that this is so much bigger than ourselves and our family. It's not just for the people of Africa either. The Lord is raising up a team of people to be involved and invested in us, and in His work, as well as in the people He is preparing to hear, and respond to His Word. We can see how God is using the gifts, talents and the resources of those around us to join us in sharing HIS GLORY! This is so much bigger than we can even understand or take in and it's humbling and exciting to be invited into His plan of salvation. We are excited to continue to see Him move through His people.

We had the opportunity to share God's work in Africa with around 25 people at an event we had the privilege of being a part of. It was hosted by our SD friends the Halls, and was incredible as we saw God's love flow out of them as they look for ways to serve the Lord through coming alongside us.

As we move forward through this month and the next, we are clinging to the hope that the Lord knows our steps. he knows what is before us even though we do not. This journey is growing our faith and as we lean in and trust Him, He continues to blow our minds with How much He loves us.
