Day of Rest

This last Saturday we took a family hike out to some falls at Lake Como. The day before, we were feeling the weight of so many things that have to get done in order for us to be ready to leave for Kenya. Even though all of our funding is still coming in, we are preparing to leave the date that has been planned. God has been so faithfully leading us, but at times we panic and feel completely overwhelmed with were we are and where we think we need to be. God knows exactly where we need to be and that we need to just trust Him in the details. As a wife and mom, I am learning to have a plan, but to hold it loosely- giving the Lord opportunity to work in and through those plans. Sometimes it means changed plans. Or cancelled plans. He remains good through it all. When I can trust Him, I can find my rest even when life is busy. We needed Saturday to get out and walk. To be in the stillness of  our makers creation, and to experience the beauty He has created. by the time we got home, we were all tired but full of the goodness of the day. It felt like a gift, and we felt refreshed.

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is his faithfulness." Lam. 3:22-23

We are continuing to keep planning ahead and living with the confidence that the Lord already has our steps planned. We are choosing to walk in it.

"The steps of a man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way." Ps 37:23
